The instrument uses reverse hybridization for qualitative virus sub-type analysis. Specimens are added, reagents are automatically processed, DNA is extracted, and PCR is amplified. Amplified products undergo reverse hybridization with virus sub-type probes on the Chip. If target gene products are present, spots appear post-coloration, indicating virus sub-type. Negative specimens show no spots.
